Tasty, sensational oysters and equally fine scallops grilled on a high heat, and then briefly roasted and drizzled with olive oil. The particularly fine taste of these shellfish, especially the oysters, was due to the fact that they were "wild" and picked from the nearby aquatorium, still carrying a bit of the sea in their shell, which is also true for the scallops, when they aren't imported ones that are unnaturally thick, fatty and have a cardboard taste...Radovan Marčić - https://www.jutarnji.hr

The interaction between the guests and the owner is what I believe to be the most valuable aspect of Astarea today. Of course, if the basic criterion, which is quality cuisine, is not met, it's pointless to talk about any good vibes in a restaurant or tavern. But, when excellent food is coupled with a warm, homey, and relaxed atmosphere, good people, fire, appropriate music… then, even though the times are crazy, happiness doesn't seem so far away!Franko Lukež - http://www.iceipice.hr

Very pleasant and friendly atmosphere. We ordered tagliatelle with prawns, and for dessert chocolate mousse with whipped cream. Compliments to the food and to Nikola who served us. Thank you :) Zvonimir Kranjčec

One of the best meals I've tried, if not the best Hrvoje Spehar

On recommendation, we chose this restaurant that fulfilled all my expectations. Fish menu, excellent and varied platter with appetizers, scallops and john dory under the bell. The food is excellent. The owner sat down with us at the beginning and recommended the starters and main dishes: black risotto, fish platter with Swiss chard and potatoes. The staff is friendly and in a good mood. All in all... Highly recommended.Melisa M

"Perfect day!
We came to have a coffee and a pie, but we stayed all day having lunch and great Sunday afternoon in the yard. Staff is great (the owner was supercool) and everything was clean. There is a parking in front of the restaurant and across the road. The yard is at the back side so its peaceful and quiet. Fun, friendly gifted chef in authentic setting
We stopped here for dinner one night. The chef had reportedly worked in a big city restaurant but come home to start her own local konoba. She was amazingly friendly and open gladly showed us her hearth-style cooking. We were comfortably served on a porch enclosed by windows.
We had several courses starting with a scallop in a huge shell. Each course was accompanied with various grappas including mistletoe and walnut.
The food was very good, service excellent, but most of all, the welcoming atmosphere was the most memorable part! GO_timbuktuorbeyond

ISTRIAN ČRIPNJA: An ancient Istrian peka (roasting dish) that you have not tried yet!

Bigger fish under the čripnja (the common vernacular for a peka in Istria) are first on the list of inquiries for some Astarea fans upon entering the restaurant. Others much prefer the sea medley: a selected mix of fish, crabs and shellfish in vegetables under a bell dome. The first principle, self-evident, is the impeccable freshness of the fish.
